Before the year 2012, days promoting giving were outnumbered two to one. There were two days devoted to buying (Black Friday and Cyber Monday) and just one day devoted to giving (Thanksgiving).
But thanks to the charitable ingenuity of the folks at 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation, the odds today are a little more even. Meet #GivingTuesday, a day created for the sole purpose of inspiring charitable giving. Whether it’s donating $10 to a charity or an hour of time to a soup kitchen, #GivingTuesday is all about finding ways to celebrate generosity.
This year, Cotopaxi is joining the movement by offering a special #GivingTuesday edition of our India and Bangladesh stainless steel water bottles. Cool, huh? What’s even cooler is that 100 percent of profits from the #GivingTuesday water bottles will be donated to WHOlives, one of our partner organizations that brings clean and safe drinking water to the people of Africa through their Village Drill. Each bottle sold will provide 30 years of clean water for one person.
This water bottle is everything you need a bottle to be. Its double-walled construction keeps contents hot for 12 hours and cold for 24. It’s BPA-free, resistant to bacteria and odors, and doesn’t sweat—no matter the temperature. Plus, this bottle will help spread the word about the #GivingTuesday movement all year long.
So join the movement! Buy a water bottle, give water. It’s that simple.
