If you made it this far, here are three tips to exploring national parks.

  • Camp – Camping in or near a national park will enhance your national parks experience. Wondering where to camp? There are several websites, including The DyrtThe Outbound, and Roots Rated to help you find the right campground.
  • Free Entrance Days – The National Park Service wants everyone to enjoy the parks and has free entrance days each year. While these days might be a little more crowded than normal, it’s a great time to get out and explore a park. You can find out when those free entrance days are on the National Park Service website.
  • Take a CameraCapture your moments in the national parks and reflect on them frequently. If you live in the city, it’s a nice reminder of the beauty that exists minutes to hours away. That said, use your camera wisely and enjoy some time in the parks free from cell phone/camera distraction. It will be worth it, we promise.
